Tuition, fees up by 7.5%

piggy bank   Belmont will increase tuition by $655 a semester as well as raise the student fee, campus housing and meal plans for the coming school year.
  “Those increases will still leave Belmont charging the lowest tuition among the top 20 southern universities in our category and less than 77 percent of the average among the top 10,” said Dan McAlexander, the university provost.
    Tuition will increase by 7.49 percent, the greatest increase since 2001. The financial aid budget, however, will increase by more than 20 percent. But not all scholarships will increase, McAlexander said.
