Overview:

Georgia closed out the regular season as the second-place team in the SEC, arguably the best conference. The Bulldogs average 72.5 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the field. Georgia can score inside and outside very efficiently. All-American center Tasha Humphrey leads a potent post game while the team leads the SEC with six three-pointers per game. However, the Bulldogs’ Achilles heel comes in the form of turnovers. Georgia gives the ball away 15.1 times a game.

Backcourt

Starters:

#01 Ashley Houts – G – 9.2 PPG – 3.6 APG – 41.8 FG pct.
#21 Cori Chambers – G – 12.9 PPG – 3.4 RPG – 42.5 FG pct.
#14 Janese Hardrick – G –  8.9 PPG – 3.9 RPG – 3.4 APG

SEC freshman of the year Ashley Houts is the floor general for the Bulldogs. The 5-6 guard leads the team in assists and steals. Her game has grown at an exponential rate this season and she has become a go-to-player when the game is on the line. Senior Cori Chambers has connected on a team-best 81 treys and is second in scoring. Fellow senior guard Janese Hardrick is a more than capable downtown shooter as well.

Frontcourt

Starters:

#34 Tasha Humphrey – C - 16.1 PPG – 8.0 RPG – 50.1 FG pct.
#24 Megan Darrah – F – 7.7 PPG – 4.7 RPG – 40.9 3PT pct.

All-American post Tasha Humphrey is the deadliest weapon in the Bulldog arsenal. The junior uses her muscle to lead the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding. Athletic junior wing Megan Darrah is the most accurate three-point shooter on the team and is second in rebounding.

Key Bench Players:

#33 Angel Robinson – C – 8.0 PPG – 5.4 RPG – 0.83 BPG
#22 Christy Marshall – G/F – 8.0 PPG – 3.2 RPG – 45.8 FG pct.
#50 Rebecca Rowsey – F – 4.2 PPG – 3.3 RPG – 0.54 BPG

Freshman post Angel Robinson is a more than adequate back-up in the post for the Bulldogs. At 6-5, she’s the tallest player on the team and leads in blocked shots. Freshman Christy Marshall and junior Rebecca Rowsey add much-needed depth to the Georgia backcourt and frontcourt respectively.
