On a mission

When fall break came, four Belmont students and assistant university minister Christy Ridings piled into Christy’s car and headed to Johnson City, Tenn. for a mission trip.

Ashley Eayre, Chris Donnell, Paul Harrison and myself, Adaeze Elechi, did not quite know what we were headed for. Only Christy really knew. She had been there over the summer with another team of student volunteers. Paul had only signed up to go the morning of the trip. We were clueless, but we were eager to work.

It was a cozy five-hour drive to Johnson City. Although I was asleep for most of it, the turning leaves on the mountains, according to everyone else, made for beautiful scenery.

Super soph eyes NCAA, WNBA

She was named the ’05-06 Atlantic Sun Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. She was named A-Sun Player of the Week five times and finished the regular season ranked eighth in the nation in rebounding…the list goes on.
